Here's a similar dress to the one I just posted. This one is from Downton Abbey.

1892 Evening Gown

This is a dress I made a little while back. It's based on a sketch from one of my favorite books - Costume in Detail. It's a pale cream full length gown with a series of pleats at the bottom, a square neckline trimmed with lace over ribbon, puffed sleeves with ribbon ties, a gathered bodice front, and a gathered waistband. I like how it turned out, for the most part. It needs a couple of fitting adjustments, and I'd like to make it again with more historically accurate material.

I finally made a sewing blog!

So, after meaning to do so for quite some time, I've finally started my sewing blog. The main focus will be historical reproduction sewing, but I may throw in other sewing projects from time to time. Stay tuned!
